You will certainly revere me, you will accept discipline. Zephaniah 3:7 NASB

Jesus entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling things there; and he said, "It is written, 'My house shall be a house of prayer.'" Luke 19:45-46

"Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world ...," begins a song most of us learned as youngsters. He states over and over throughout the Bible directions for doing just this - loving all the children of the world. God also tells us that we can fall short, turn from his guidance, and lean on our own devices. When this happens he tells us also what is wrong and how we can seek to return to his grace. He expects us to love one another, to use his places of worship for worship, and to turn away from greed and selfishness. What a wonderful life we lead when we always seek to follow God's way.

Will we ever fall short? of course, we are humans born with original sin. The wonder of it all is that God has provided the discipline and guidance we need as we continue to seek to be his disciples. We are assured of his love in all that we do even when we fall short and must return to his grace.

Dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Thank you for providing your word as guidance for how to live. Give us the the will to live as you would have us to live. Help us to be your disciples and to love one another. Amen.
