Happy are those who keep his decrees, who seek him with their whole heart. Psalm 119:2

Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:19

These verses make me thankful beyond measure for the gift of forgiveness. All of us are born with sinful natures and cannot keep all of the of God's decrees and commandments. But through the power of Jesus resurrection from the dead in expiation for the sins of all believers we are forgiven and can walk in the newness of life as his precious children.  What a wonderful gift beyond measure.

When we strive to live as God has taught us to live, we know that even the sins of which we are unaware are forgiven when we come to him in prayer. Each one of us is a  precious child of God. When we try to treat others with kindness as we witness to God's truth we are living as God would have us to live.

Dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
Help us to trust in your great commandment, to love you and the neighbors you send to us. Thank you for teaching us how to live and how to treat one another. Help us to always keep you in our hearts and lives. Give us a will to share our faith with others. Amen.
