He leads me in right paths for his name's sake. Psalm 23:3

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me. John 10:14

What comfort these words have brought to countless believers throughout the ages. To think, even as these words have always comforted so many, they are timeless words. They are meant for each one of us. God has infinite wisdom and capacity for caring beyond anything we, his children, can even imagine. As often as we fall short, God is always there for each one of us.

How could he care for us even when we stray from him? We are his children. That is all that counts with God. When we hurt and feel disconnected, God is always there. As soon as we realize this incredible gift, we are comforted by his presence.

We can take further comfort in the words of the Psalmist. "The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1

Dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Thank you for knowing each of your children by name. Such knowledge brings comfort beyond measure. When we wander, you are there to gather us back into your flock. What a glorious gift it is to know this. Thank you. Amen.
