The Lord our God is righteous in everything he does. Daniel 9:14 NIV

God did this to prove at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies the one who has faith in Jesus. Romans 3:25-26

Faith: that five letter word that grants us much more than we can gain by our own efforts. In Romans 3:9-20 Paul lists many of the sins that all people commit making all unable to be justified in God's sight by trying to live under the law. These words paint a bleak picture of what is in store for all no matter how diligently any try to follow the law perfectly. Our sinful nature will prevail.

Then Paul continues in Romans 4:21-31 to explain the power of God's righteousness if we have faith in Christ Jesus. This faith brings God's divine forbearance, and God will pass over all sins we have previously committed.

The righteousness we gain through faith in Jesus Christ and the atonement he suffered is the priceless gift from which we benefit. We will have times of unhappiness, grief, trial, and other difficulties, but our faith promises justification and salvation. Thanks be to God!

Dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
Thank you, Jesus, for dying for our sins. Your resurrection proves that you are the Holy One of God. Thank you for granting us your forgiveness, your righteousness, and eternal life with you. Let the love you give to us flow through our beings to bless those around us. Amen.
