If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all of his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth…You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. Deuteronomy 28:1, 6

For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister snd mother. Matthew 12:50

Think of it. Every time any one of us worries or spends our time trying to fix life’s difficulties on our own, we are really defying today’s verses. This is because we are not depending on God’s command that we come to him for guidance in all situations.

You know the adage that worry is like rocking back and forth in a rocking chair. No matter how hard and long you rock (worry) you spend energy going nowhere (solving the problem at hand). God commands and wants us to depend on his all-encompassing wisdom to guide us in every matter.

We are human and cannot always do his will. That is where God’s gift of forgiveness and grace intercede for all believers. We are blessed with this inestimable gift through the death and resurrection of God’s only begotten son, Jesus.

Dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Thank you for the gift of forgiveness snd grace. We know that we cannot always follow your commands, but you stand ready to enfold us when we return to your presence. Lift up all of us, your children. Amen.
