They sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endure forever.” Ezra 33:11

When they had sung the hymn, they out to the Mount of Olives. Mark 14:26

God wants us to sing. Even people like me. Who can’t carry a tune to save their lives. He wants us to shout praises from the mountain top. To sing praises at the top of our lungs and the bottom of our souls. He even commands it.

CTK has been blessed. Having organists, choir masters, musicians, singers and all kinds of talented people to lead us mere mortals in praising God. To sing, play instruments and lead our congregation in prayer and singing and music.

Did you know there are benefits to singing? Research at the University of Frankfurt says that singing boosts the immune system. The research included testing professional choir members blood before and after an hour long rehearsal of Mozart’s “Requiem”. They noted that in most cases, the amount of proteins in the immune system thar function as antibodies, known as Immunoglobulin A, were significantly higher immediately after the rehearsal. The same increases were not observed after the choir members just listened. Singing also helps with sleep and snoring. And it’s a natural anti-depressant. It helps release endorphins, the chemical from the brain that makes us feel good.

So, let us sing!  “ With One Voice” Written by Ed Kerr & Paul Baloche

Break out the cymbals

And tambourines

Call up the trumpets and horns

Raise up a banner

And come with me

It's time to worship the Lord

Praise Him together in unity

We've got a reason to sing

Lift up a heavenly harmony

It's time to worship the King

With one voice

Every tribe will praise Him

With one voice

Every tongue will tell

That the Lord is good And His love endures

And His mercy lasts forever

With one voice

Come and worship

Lift your voice

We will worship

With one voice

Come and worship

With one voice

Amen.
