The Lord is a shield for all who take refuge in him. Psalm 18:30

Hoping against hope, Abraham believed that he would become “the father of many nations.” Romans 4:18

What an example the faith of Abraham is for all of us. He believed God when God told him that he would be the father of many nations, At the time when God made this promise to Abraham,  Abraham was over 100 years old and Sarah, his wife, was far past child bearing years. Yet, Abraham never lost his belief in God’s promise and became the father of many nations.
God opens a world of promise for each one of us. Sometimes it is difficult to understand  possibilities and plans God has for each one of us. We carry our own doubts and internal resistance to God’s unwavering love and also to his plan to guide us in our lives. We need God's help to trust in his protection as we proceed through  our days on earth. His grace is sufficient; his plan for each of us is borne out of God’s love beyond all understanding for each one of us, his children.

Dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Thank you for your unwavering love for each of us, your precious children. Give us the willingness to follow your plan for our lives. Remove our own doubts and resistance. Help us to share with others your promise of life eternal through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, your beloved son. Amen.
