I grew up in Lindstrom, MN, have a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN (where I also sang in the choir), and graduated with my M. Div. from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA.
For my first three years of ministry I served as the Transition Pastor at St. Ansgar Lutheran Church in Portland, Maine, and as the Mission Developer for a new community called Arise Portland, which serves mostly people who haven’t found a spiritual home in a traditional church setting. I bring gifts in the areas of congregational transition, community and leadership development, and creative worship. I enjoy the many facets of pastoral ministry, particularly worship planning and leadership, pastoral care, adult and youth education, and community outreach. Through the work I've done in Portland, I have developed strong ecumenical partnerships, built safety and trust with community members skeptical of the church, organized with others around issues of housing affordability and workers’ rights, and co-led an ongoing paperless singing practice group. My passions for music and social justice largely shape the ways I share God’s love both inside and outside my congregational ministry.
When not working, I enjoy bouncing between various creative endeavors, cooking meals with my husband Nat, snuggling with our two cats, Elliot and Ollie, and as of August 2019 being momma to our son, Solomon!
