The CTK Foundation Board met via Zoom on Tuesday, November 30, to review grant requests and we are pleased to announce two awards.

· Grant Request from Sarah Marotz for the ELCA Youth Gathering.  Sarah wrote in her request, “The ELCA Youth Gathering "boundless - God beyond measure" will be held July 24-28, 2022 in Minneapolis. I estimate 8-10 CTK youth (grades 8-12) will attend. Even though the Gathering is local for us, this is an immersive experience where the youth are expected to stay in hotels and interact with other groups/new people. People that have attended previous ELCA Youth Gatherings report that it can be fun and powerful to worship and learn with thousands of other Christians. The chance to connect with other youth and develop their faith together, especially after 2+ years of pandemic restrictions, has the potential to be transformative to the youth that will be attending.”

· Grant Request from Chris Gabel for Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service. Chris wrote in her request, “Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) is the largest faith-based nonprofit dedicated to serving vulnerable immigrants, asylum seekers and refugees in the U.S. They resettle refugees, reunite children and parents, and rekindle the American Dream. For more than 80 years, LIRS has been a champion for migrants and refugees from around the globe.”
