Please join us on a Sacred Sites Tour on Sunday August 11, from 1:00 to 5:00. This is one of our summer renewal events while Pastor Rory is away on his sabbatical. This special event offers an opportunity to learn about Minnesota history from a Native perspective through story-telling and experiencing the sites in silence / meditation / reflection. Our guide for this tour is Jim Bear Jacobs. He is a member of the Stockbridge-Munsee Mohican Nation, an American Indian tribe located in central Wisconsin. He is a cultural facilitator in the Twin Cities and works to raise the public’s awareness of American Indian causes and injustices. He is founder/convener of “Healing Minnesota Stories,” an initiative dedicated to creating events of dialogue, education, and healing, particularly within faith communities. He is currently the Director of Racial Justice for the Minnesota Council of Churches.
This is a carpooling event - for adults and older youth. It is free and accessible. You can sign-up below or call the office to sign-up, 952-881-8600. An information sheet with more details can be found in the commons or in the office.
