CYF Appreciation – May 7

Next Sunday is CYF Appreciation Sunday.  All teachers, leaders, volunteers, and helpers with programs, fundraisers, special events, projects, and action teams please come and be celebrated and appreciated in worship.  There will be a reception to follow.

Women’s Retreat

 Women of all ages, sign up for “Ladies Leap of Faith” in The Commons or call the church office. The retreat is on Saturday, May 13th. The event runs from 8:30a.m.- 4:00p.m. It includes a morning presentation from Pastor Carolyn Philstrom and then we head off on an excursion. A light breakfast and a lunch are provided. This day will be informational and FUN! There is minimal walking involved and is wheelchair accessible. Dress for the weather. We will be starting at the church. Cost is $25.00. Please pay by May 1st. Treat yourself or this would also make great Mother’s Day gift for mothers and daughters.

Women’s Luncheon

Saturday, April 29th at 11am

Our Luncheon is coming soon – April 29th at 11:00am. Our speaker this year is Eleanor Ostman who was a longtime food writer for the St. Paul Pioneer Press-Dispatch. Watch for our table in the Commons for making your Reservations.  Tickets are again $15.00.  Mark Heder will be catering our lunch again this year. See you on the 29th.   

Save the Dates!  Vacation Bible School, June 19 – 23, 8:30 to 11:30am.  Cost is $10.00 per child.  This summer’s theme is Hero Central.  We will meet heroes of the Bible – Samuel, Abigail, Jesus and the disciples.  Discover your strength in God! 

Volunteers are needed!!  Volunteers are appreciated!! Volunteers are needed for games, snacks, music, and pre-school.  If you want to be part of this amazing summer experience with our CTK kids, contact Nina Joy or Leslie Oredson.

Super-Hero Sunday – May 21st Worship @9:30am followed by the Church Picnic

CTK will provide pulled pork sandwiches, chips, and lemonade. Families are invited to bring a salad to share. There will be root beer floats and ice cream for dessert. There will be a bouncy house, yard games (bocce ball, bean bag toss, wiffle ball), as well as different ways to celebrate creation. Pray for nice weather!! We encourage ALL to wear a super-hero t-shirt, hat, or even costume for “Super-Hero Sunday”.  Join us for worship and special intergenerational meal and activities.  Help us promote VBS and celebrate the heroes of our faith in this fun way!  Please bring your food items to the kitchen prior to worship! Want to help with set-up or clean-up? Sign up at the library desk or please contact Jane V. in the office.
