Christ the King offers a wide variety of opportunities to serve within the church, out in the community, and around the world.

Everything we have comes from and belongs to our abundant God. As Christ’s disciples, we are to care for and use all of these resources wisely. Giving is about loving your neighbor as yourself. Day by Day. Giving is an action that reflects the love in our heart for God and for people around us.

When we share the time, talents and finances that God entrusts to us, we grow as disciples and deepen our loving relationship with Jesus. By giving our resources to do the work God calls us to do, we become partners with God here on earth.

Please prayerfully consider what God would have you share financially through mission and ministry in gratitude for God’s gifts to you.

December Gift of Love – Oasis for Youth

Oasis for Youth is a community based small non-profit organization poised to help the growing population of homeless and precariously housed youth, 16 to 21 years of age, in Bloomington, Richfield and Edina. Our aim is to walk together with homeless youth on the path to stability and self-sufficiency; so in addition to housing, we also address a range of other needs.   Four core concepts provide the framework around which Oasis programs are built.

  1. Youth will be most successful when they are able to remain in the community where they have friends, attend school and go to work. Support and housing opportunities for homeless youth in Bloomington, Richfield and Edina are essential.
  2. Young people have the best chance at success when they graduate from high school and continue on to post-secondary education. We work closely with schools to support youth so they are able to complete their education.
  3. Youth who can work through their family issues and remain at home will have a better chance of success. Oasis first seeks to reunite young people with their families. For those who cannot go home, we believe that a close connection to other caring adults is vital.
  4. Suburban homeless youth do not necessarily have the same issues as their urban counterparts. Oasis pursues creative solutions to their unique needs.
